One of our observations at the Personnel Improvement Center is that many states don't have the infrastructure or capability to answer basic questions about special education personnel such as: What are the actual shortages of special education providers in the state and where are those shortages located? What are the attrition and retention rates and trends of special education providers? How many potential providers are in the IHE pipeline by endorsement, license or certification area? If you've solved these problems in your state (or if you're in the process of addressing these issues) we'd like to hear about how you did it.
